Meet Dr. Reyna

Dr. Juan Carlos Reyna is a scholar, faculty within the California State University (CSU) system, and former Dean of Counseling and Student Development within the California Community College (CCC) system.

Dr. Reyna has an extensive track record leading social justice efforts in education via student-centered, equitable, and data informed initiatives. He strongly advocates for under recognized and underserved populations who are negatively impacted by the systems of education. His goal is to be a voice and a change agent for students and communities that are commonly forgotten or disengaged in education and who often times lack representation at the table. Dr. Reyna recognizes the importance of engaging faculty, administrators, staff, students, and families in critical conversations to help enhance the experiences and life-long impact to historically marginalized communities. He offers public lectures, trainings, workshops, and consulting opportunities for educators, students, and families. Dr. Reyna has a unique and non-traditional background and has successfully navigated the streets and earned a terminal degree, hence the name of the organization.
